An Achievable Dream’s Class of 2015 received their diplomas to rousing cheers of family and friends during a ceremony at CNU’s Ferguson Center for the Arts on Thursday, June 4. All members of the class, most of whom have been together since early elementary school, are going on to college, a trade school or the military. Valedictorian Adrianna Diggs will be attending Rutgers University and will be joining the Army ROTC. The Class of 2015 has been awarded over $1.7 million in scholarships and were accepted into 141 different colleges and universities.

During his remarks, Keynote Speaker Larry Pope, president and CEO of Smithfield Foods, outlined 10 important steps for success, stressing a positive outlook, being on time and helping others. Smithfield Foods is the sponsor of the Class of 2015. Their generous donation provides annual merit scholarships for the members of the class for each year they attend college. Along with the Class of 2006, which Smithfield Foods also sponsored, the Class of 2015 will be known as the Smithfield Foods Scholars.
